⭐ About the Project

The Volunteering in a School Supporting “Outside of Lesson” Activities project, hosted by NaturKultur Bremen e.V.in partnership with Oberschule im Park, offers volunteers the chance to support young people in one of Bremen’s most diverse and multicultural districts.

At this secondary school (grades 5–10), many students come from migrant backgrounds and face challenges like limited educational support or economic hardship. Through non-formal learning, creative activities, movement-based sessions, and social engagement, volunteers will play a meaningful role in strengthening students’ confidence, inclusion, and learning journey. 🎒🤝✨

This role is perfect for volunteers who want to work directly with young people, support their education, and contribute to a more inclusive school environment.

📌 Activity Highlights

• 👥 Support “outside of lesson” activities throughout the school day
• 📚 Assist newly arrived students in the “Vorkurs” German language class
• 🎨 Lead or support creative, social & movement-based sessions
• 🌍 Promote inclusion and multicultural understanding
• 🤝 Work closely with teachers, mentors & other volunteers
• 🚀 Encourage student participation through non-formal learning

🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport

• 🏠 Volunteers live in a shared flat/house in Bremen with up to 4 ESC volunteers
• 🛏️ Private bedroom; shared kitchen, bathroom & living spaces
• 🍽️ Monthly financial support: 290€ + 210€ (food + pocket money)
• 💳 Health insurance covered
• ✈️ Travel reimbursement: 180–395€ depending on distance
• 🚌 Local logistics handled by NaturKultur Bremen e.V.

🎓 Training Provided

• 🧭 Weekly mentor meetings at the start
• 🇩🇪 German conversation class (min. 1 hour/week)
• 💻 Access to OLS online German language learning
• 🇩🇪 On-Arrival and Mid-Term Trainings organised by the German National Agency
• 🤝 Additional training with all new NaturKultur volunteers
