How can places of memory shape our understanding of history, identity, and civic responsibility? Join this powerful international seminar exploring the Czech Republic’s key remembrance sites — from Prague to Písek, Terezín, and Ústí nad Labem — and discover how Europe confronts the legacy of its 20th-century past.

This activity is part of the long-term series “Venues of victims // Venues of perpetrators”, focusing on mapping, decoding, and understanding the role of historic–civic education in European youth work.

About the Seminar

This 7-day programme brings together youth workers, trainers, teachers, civic educators, museum staff, researchers, and NGO representatives (18+) with a strong background in historic and civic youth education. Participants from Erasmus+ Programme Countries will explore how historical events are remembered, interpreted, and taught across generations.

Throughout the seminar, you will examine how remembrance culture influences today’s political and social dynamics — particularly in the Czech Republic.

Programme Highlights

🇨🇿 Prague – National Museum & City Monuments
A guided exploration of key memorials and monuments related to the country’s 20th-century history.

🎗️ Lety u Písku – Memorial to Roma & Sinti Victims

🤝 Ústí nad Labem – “Our Germans” Exhibition
