The Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology (MPIIB) in Berlin, Germany, invites highly motivated international Bachelorโs and Masterโs students to apply for its International Summer Internship (MPIIB-ISI) โ a three-month, fully funded research experience from August to October 2026.
Interns will work on cutting-edge scientific projects under the mentorship of experienced researchers while gaining access to Germanyโs thriving academic network. The programme also provides training in scientific presentation, research design, and PhD application preparation, ensuring a comprehensive professional development experience.

The MPIIB-ISI programme targets talented students who have faced personal, financial, regional, or societal challenges that have affected their academic path.
Eligibility Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a university (required for visa purposes). Completed at least 4 semesters (2 years) of undergraduate study by the time of application. Strong academic record in a relevant field (e.g., biology, medicine, biochemistry, or epidemiology). Good command of English. Demonstrated motivation for both the programme and chosen research project. Clear explanation of educational constraints or obstacles faced. Available for the entire internship period (AugโOct 2026). Internship must be voluntary (not for academic credit).
