Description
Volunteers will support SORGED’s activities in youth work, culture, environment, and community engagement. They will help organize workshops, intercultural learning activities, language clubs, sports events, and awareness campaigns for young people and local communities. Volunteers will contribute to social media, content creation, photography, videography, and the promotion of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps opportunities. They will also participate in environmental, healthy lifestyle, and disaster awareness activities carried out with local institutions and civil society organizations. Volunteers will work in an international team, interact with local people, share ideas, and support community-based projects. Through these activities, they will develop communication, teamwork, digital, organizational, and intercultural skills while gaining valuable personal and professional experience. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will stay in shared rooms (2 people per room), with male and female volunteers accommodated in separate houses. The accommodation is safe, comfortable, fully equipped, and located a 7-minute walk from our association’s office. Volunteers will receive a daily food allowance of €6 and daily pocket money of €6. Travel costs will be reimbursed according to the ESC distance bands. Visa and residence permit expenses will be covered. Volunteers will receive health insurance through Henner.
Training during the activity
During the activity, SORGED will provide ESC volunteers with orientation and ongoing learning support. Orientation will cover the organisation, project goals, local culture, safety rules and volunteer responsibilities. Non-formal workshops will focus on youth work, intercultural learning, communication, teamwork, the environment, healthy living and disaster preparedness. Basic Turkish lessons will support daily communication. Mentoring, regular reflection sessions and Youthpass guidance will support volunteers’ learning and personal development.
Participant profile
SORGED is looking for motivated, open-minded and responsible young people interested in volunteering and intercultural learning. Participants should be willing to work in a team, communicate in English, and respect cultural diversity and fellow volunteers. Sensitivity to people with different needs and abilities, adaptability, and readiness to help wherever needed are important.
An interest in youth work, sports, healthy lifestyles, arts, languages, the environment, science, disaster preparedness, entrepreneurship or personal development is valued. Digital skills and experience in social media, photography, video production or content creation are an advantage but are not required. We value willingness to learn, social responsibility, sharing ideas, taking initiative and motivation to contribute to the local community more than previous experience.
