🇦🇹 ESC Volunteering in Austria 🏰 International Youth Events and Social Media at a Castle 🌱

Help shape the future of Europe by promoting European values among young people. The European Youth Forum (EYFON), located at historic Forchenstein Castle in Neumarkt, Styria, is a meeting place for young people from across Europe. Our events invite participants to explore topics such as national and European identity, tolerance and diversity, and cultural perspectives on migration. The programme combines presentations and workshops with social activities, cultural excursions and sports. We have three different areas of focus, so we are looking for 3 volunteers from different countries.

1. Social Media & Content Creation

You will manage our social media accounts and create daily content that showcases our projects and events. This includes project photography and videography, editing photos and videos, and developing other creative content like Newsletters, Website etc.

2. Project Support & Activities

You will help coordinate our projects and make participants feel welcome and included. Your tasks may include leading energizers and team-building activities, organising coffee breaks, and planning and delivering your own workshops or presentations for example, an introduction to the castle rules.

3. Technical Support, Castle & Sustainability

You will assist the building technician with repairs and other technical tasks at the castle. You will also help care for the courtyard garden (where also eatable food is grown which is used in the Kitchen) and the green spaces around the castle, contributing to a well-maintained environment and sustainable use of the grounds.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

A proper accommodation in Neumarkt is offered. Two volunteers will live in a flat, each will have separate rooms, the third volunteer has a own flat right above the other. Food allowance and pocket money are provided according to program guidelines (Pocket money 210 €/month, food money 230€/month).

Training during the activity

Volunteer will participate in On-Arrival and Mid-Term Trainings, organized by the National Agency. They will be able to attend German classes. The organisation provides task related support, supervision, and guidance through experienced staff.
