Description
B.R.I.D.G.E. – Erasmus+ training course in Iași, Romania (9–19 Nov 2026) for youth workers from 7 countries. Learn non-formal methods to tackle civic apathy and fake news, then run local workshops engaging young people in democracy.
Why this training?
Across Europe, more and more young people are stepping away from democratic life. Many feel that institutions don’t represent them. Many get their news from social media, where fake news spreads faster than verified facts. Youth organisations are well placed to change this, but they often lack engaging, practical methods for tackling civic apathy and disinformation. B.R.I.D.G.E. gives youth workers those tools.
Aims:
- Train 28 youth workers in non-formal methods for civic education and recognising fake news
- Prepare them to run their own local workshops for young people
- Create an open Best Practice Guide that other organisations can use
- Build a network of more resilient youth organisations across 7 countries
Programme:
Days 1–2: getting to know each other, group building and project context
Day 3: Event management – planning youth events, teamwork and leadership
Day 4: Social media – content creation, how manipulation works online, spotting and countering fake news
Days 5–6: Communication – effective messaging, public speaking, facilitation
Day 7: Civic education – case studies, Living Library, designing activities for young people
Day 8: Writing the Best Practice Guide together
Day 9: Evaluation and Youthpass
Methods are fully non-formal and participatory: role plays, World Café, case studies, Living Library, team challenges and daily reflection groups.
Participants: 28 youth workers or young people active in youth work, aged 18–25, with 4 per partner organisation from Romania, Austria, Türkiye, Italy, Serbia, Bulgaria and Ukraine. Participants with fewer opportunities are especially welcome. An advanced level of English is not required.
After the training, each participant will:
- run at least one local workshop (min. 3 hours, 10–15 young people) within 6 months
- contribute to the Best Practice Guide
- help with the project’s Instagram campaign against disinformation
Costs: accommodation, meals and the programme are covered by Erasmus+. Travel costs are reimbursed up to the Erasmus+ green-travel limits. Applications go through the partner organisation in each country. Please read the INFOPACK attached for further details.
