Description

7-day Training Course in Italy for youth workers and coordinators to strengthen safeguarding, risk management and well-being skills, making international mobilities safer and more inclusive for vulnerable youth.

โ€œSafe Movesโ€ is an Erasmus+ project that strengthens the capacity of youth organisations to offer inclusive, safer, braver and high-quality learning experiences in international group mobilities like Youth Exchanges and ESC Volunteering Teams. It focuses especially on supporting young people with fewer opportunities and highly vulnerable youth.

Over 7 days, participants will:

- understand safeguarding and risk management principles in short-term mobilities; - explore the personal struggles young people may face abroad (homesickness, communication and language barriers, overwhelm, exclusion) and how to support them; - practice first response to distress, conflict resolution and trauma-informed approaches; - exchange practices and co-create the Safe Moves Toolkit on Safeguarding in International Youth Mobilities; - reflect on competences through Youthpass and the YOCOMO self-assessment.

Methods: non-formal education, including simulations, role-plays, case studies, discussions, creative activities and daily reflection groups.

The Training Course builds on the results of the project's Study Visit. There, staff from partner organisations observed safeguarding practices in an ESC Team with highly vulnerable young people.
