🇨🇿 Erasmus+ Training Course in Czechia 🌲 Self Awareness Reflection and Resilience for Youth Workers 🪞

Description

The Edge Within is an Erasmus+ Training Course for youth workers, trainers, facilitators, educators, community leaders and others actively involved — professionally or voluntarily — in youth work and non-formal learning.

Many of us support young people in navigating change, uncertainty, relationships and questions of identity — while meeting similar edges within ourselves.

The Edge Within is an invitation to turn some of that attention inward.

For one week, 25 participants from Czechia, Latvia, Romania, Italy and Estonia will step away from their everyday routines and gather at an old Scout base surrounded by forests in Nejdek, Czech Republic.

Together, we will explore the “edges” within ourselves: our patterns, reactions, boundaries, strengths and the places where we meet uncertainty, discomfort or the not-yet-known. And we will ask how greater awareness of these processes can influence the way we listen, facilitate, hold space and accompany young people.

The training combines personal exploration with professional reflection. Through experiential and non-formal learning, nature-based and embodied practices, storytelling, creative expression, movement, reflection, peer learning and community living, participants will first experience the methods themselves — and then explore how they can be meaningfully and ethically adapted to their own youth work.

We are looking for people who are curious, open to reflection and willing to participate fully in an experiential learning process. You do not need to be an experienced trainer or have previous experience with nature-based approaches.

The setting itself will be part of the journey. We will live simply and closely together, spend meaningful time outdoors and experience November in the Czech countryside as it comes.

Programme: 5–11 November 2026

Arrival: 4 November | Departure: 12 November

Place: Nejdek, Czech Republic

Participants: 5 from each participating country (Czechi Republic, Latvia, Romania, Italy & Estonia)

Accommodation, food and programme costs are covered by Erasmus+. Travel costs are reimbursed according to the applicable Erasmus+ limits.

The Edge Within is not about finding quick answers or becoming a perfect youth worker. It is an invitation to remain curious at the edge of what we already know — and perhaps discover how meeting our own edges can help us accompany young people as they meet theirs.
