🇵🇹 ESC Volunteering in Portugal 👵 Active Ageing and Intergenerational Community Work 🤝

Description

This volunteering activity will take place from 1 February to 7 May 2027 and will focus on supporting activities for older people and promoting active ageing, social inclusion and intergenerational connections. Volunteers will work closely with the team in planning, creating and implementing activities such as creative workshops, awareness-raising campaigns, social and cultural activities, and community initiatives.

We are looking for two volunteers: one international volunteer and one Portuguese volunteer. They will be encouraged to contribute with their own ideas, creativity and cultural perspectives, while actively participating in the daily life of the organisation and the local community.

We are looking for volunteers who are autonomous, creative, empathetic and resilient, with a genuine interest in working with older people and contributing to a positive social impact.

Participant profile

We are looking for motivated young people who are interested in working with older people, community development and social inclusion. Participants should be autonomous, responsible, creative, empathetic and resilient, with the ability to take initiative and adapt to different situations.

Previous experience working with older people, volunteering, youth work or community activities is welcome, but not mandatory. What matters most is motivation, openness to learning and willingness to actively contribute to the organisation and its activities.

Basic knowledge of Portuguese is important, as volunteers will interact directly with older people and local community members. Good communication skills, openness to different generations and cultures, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are also expected.
