Join Semper Avanti Opole for a long-term ESC project at Pro Liberis Silesiae, a bilingual Polish-German school and kindergarten using the Montessori approach.

You will become part of everyday school life, working mainly during regular school hours alongside teachers and children. You will support lessons and educational activities, work with individual children and small groups, help prepare materials and participate in projects, events and trips.

The project combines regular responsibilities with creativity and individual initiative. As you get to know the children, you will be encouraged to contribute your own skills, interests, language and culture.

The schedule is approximately 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Duration: 10–12 months.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will live in shared accommodation in Opole, in a double room with another ESC volunteer. Wi-Fi and basic equipment are provided.

You will receive 550 PLN/month for food and 6 EUR/day as pocket money. Transportation between your accommodation and the school will be provided or covered by the organisation.

Travel costs will be reimbursed according to ESC rules and the applicable distance band. ESC insurance is provided.

Training during the activity

You will participate in the official ESC training cycle organised by the Polish National Agency, including on-arrival training and, for longer stays, a mid-term evaluation.

At the beginning, you will also receive an introduction to your tasks and everyday work at Pro Liberis Silesiae. Throughout the project, you will be supported by the school staff and your ESC coordinator.

You will also have access to Online Language Support (OLS) and opportunities to learn Polish.

Participant profile

We are looking for a responsible, disciplined and motivated volunteer aged 18–30 who genuinely enjoys working with children and is ready to become an active part of everyday school life.

This is important: this placement requires regularity, punctuality and commitment. You will be expected to come to the school every working day according to your schedule, actively participate in classes and other activities, and carry out tasks given to you by teachers and school staff. You should be comfortable working within an established daily routine, following instructions and taking responsibility for the tasks entrusted to you.

At the same time, we value creativity, independence and initiative. Once you understand how the school works and get to know the children, we want you to contribute ideas of your own and use your interests and abilities to enrich their everyday learning.

Pro Liberis Silesiae is a Polish-German bilingual school and kindergarten using the Montessori approach, so knowledge of German will be a strong advantage. However, German is not an absolute requirement. We are also very interested in candidates who can bring other valuable skills, languages and experience into the school.

A high level of another foreign language can be a significant asset, particularly if you feel confident using it and teaching it to children. We also welcome applicants with skills or strong interests that can enrich everyday school life, for example music, visual arts, crafts, theatre, dance, sport, nature, science, practical skills, cooking, storytelling or intercultural education. If you have something you are genuinely good at and would enjoy sharing with children, tell us about it.

Previous experience with children is highly appreciated. This may come from schools or kindergartens, tutoring, language teaching, camps, youth work, volunteering, childcare, coaching or similar activities. Formal teaching qualifications are not required.

Your daily tasks may include supporting lessons and educational activities, working with small groups, preparing materials, assisting with language learning, helping teachers with classroom activities and participating in school projects, events, trips and excursions. The exact tasks will depend on the school's current needs and will be discussed with the teachers and staff.

As you gain experience and become familiar with the school, there will also be space to turn your own abilities and interests into workshops, games, projects or learning activities, developed in cooperation with the teachers.

You should have sufficient English for everyday communication with your ESC coordinator and international volunteers.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is punctual, responsible, patient, reliable, open-minded and genuinely prepared to spend several hours every working day actively involved in school life.

This is an URGENT CALL and we are looking for volunteers who can join us as soon as possible.

Preferred arrival dates: 12–14 October 2026.

If you are applying from outside the EU/Schengen Area, our priority in this urgent recruitment is candidates who can realistically arrive within one of the indicated timeframes. Because visa procedures can take considerably longer, candidates who can enter Poland visa-free ("green passport" holders) will be prioritised.
