🇮🇹 ESC Volunteering in Italy ☮️ Peace Education and Nonviolent Dialogue With Young People 🤝

Centro Studi Sereno Regis, a cultural space active since 1982 in peace research and peace education, is looking for a volunteer for a 12-month project dedicated to preventing violence and promoting democratic participation among teenagers and young people.

The goal is to support young people in developing relational competences and nonviolent conflict management, strengthening their active role within their own communities. The project also aims to prevent peer violence, exclusion and discrimination by promoting cultures of dialogue, and to support teachers and educators with tools for building more inclusive environments.

The volunteer will work alongside the team in nonviolent debate workshops, peer education activities and non-formal education initiatives, with a central role in participatory processes: supporting the design and facilitation of youth engagement pathways, workshops and structured dialogue sessions between young people and institutions.

Participant profile

We are looking for a motivated person interested in exploring and experimenting with the themes at the heart of the project and of the association's work: participatory processes and facilitation, the culture of peace and nonviolence, non-formal education and work with teenagers and young people.

No specific prior skills are required, but the following are welcome:

motivation to learn Italian and to engage with a new linguistic environment; willingness to work as part of a team, in a collaborative and dynamic setting; interest in working with young people and people of all ages, across different educational and associative contexts; openness, flexibility and curiosity towards participatory and non-formal approaches; initiative and willingness to actively contribute to the proposed activities.

This experience is designed for those who wish to grow personally and professionally, gaining transferable skills in facilitation, conflict management, teamwork and active citizenship, in an international and multicultural context.
