Description
The Brandenburgische Sportjugend is an independent working youth organisation in the ''Sports Federation Brandenburg''. Its members are children and teenagers, as well as their youth representatives who are organized in more than 2.500 sport-clubs. It counts more than 137 thousand members under the age of 27 and is the largest youth association in the state of Brandenburg. The project foresees to host 1 volunteer in the organizationยดs Department of International Cooperation for 11 months. The Department imparts knowledge about planning, organization, implementation, finance and evaluation of international activities.
Main tasks of the volunteer are:
- support the co-workers of the Department in all their projects,
- get acquainted with sport structures and EU programs and funding in international youth work;
- support the planning, preparation and organization of international projects;
- look after young people from abroad and international guests.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
- Accommodation: The volunteer will live in one of our 4 accommodations for ESC volunteers in Potsdam. Each volunteer has his/her own room. All necessary living arrangements for the whole duration of the project are taken care of.
- Local Transport: A monthly travel card to use public transport within Germany (Deutschlandticket) will be made available to the volunteer. The volunteer will also receive a bike.
- A food allowance of 345,00 โฌ will be provided monthly via bank transfer.
- A pocket money allowance of 217,00 โฌ will be provided monthly via bank transfer.
Training during the activity
Our organization offers the volunteer the possibility to take part in language courses, reimbursed up to 250,00 โฌ, according to their current German level.
The volunteer will have to participate in two mandatory seminars during his/her project: On-Arrival and Mid-Term Training. These are opportunities to meet volunteers from other countries, gain understanding of EU values and reflect on the ongoing project.
Our organisation regularly organizes thematic workshops on the priority topics of the ESC Program for our group of volunteers.
Participant profile
The organisation expects the volunteer to be:
- interested in gaining knowledge about EU Youth policies and programs and the funding opportunities provided by EU programs in general;
- interested in international social youth work;
- interested in sport orientated youth work;
- interested in the conception and implementation of locally and internationally oriented sporting events and projects;
- interested to work with young people;
- dedicated, committed and creative;
- sociable, patient and open-minded
A working knowledge of the german language is definitely a plus, as a lot of the daily tasks require speaking and writing in German.
If you wish to apply, please use exclusively the European Youth Portal. Applications sent per E-Mail to our staff will not be considered for evaluation and will not receive a response.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. Weโre committed to an inclusive recruitment process and are happy to provide support or reasonable adjustments where needed.
