🇷🇴 ESC Volunteering in Romania 🎙️ Podcast Production on Inclusion and Accessibility ♿

Description

Development of a podcast on inclusivity, tackling different issues in regards to what an inclusive society is while providing role models for different types of barriers faced by youth. O1: diminish the gap between typical youth and youth with special needs / few opportunities from the community O2: increase the involvement of youth with special needs / few opportunities in the ESC/E+ programs The tasks will be to: 1. Create the content plan for podcasting 2. Record the podcast 3. Edit the podcast 4. Create social media content to promote the upcoming podcast in the community 5. Creation of awareness campaigns within the team of volunteers 6. Making the research on the topic of inclusion, gathering information about the “hot” topics to be discussed in regards to inclusion. Writing journalistic articles on the topic of inclusion 7. Organise and facilitate activities with participants with Down syndrome and Autism spectrum disorder

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be accommodated in rented apartments basically equipped, mix gender apartments, 2 persons per room of same gender, with shared bathroom and kitchen. A monthly local public transport pass will be provided. At the end of each month volunteers will receive a monthly food allowance of 180 euros and 4 euros/day pocket money in Lei (Romanian currency) at the monthly rate of the project signing.

Training during the activity

- arrival training to be accommodated in the community, association and teambulding with the other volunteers - social media training - filming and editing training - OAT and MTM as per the program rules - Romanian language classes

Participant profile

– Age 18 – 30 year old – Did not do a long term EVS or ESC before – Fluent in English, both speaking and writing – Experience in filming, editing, photography, social media, podcast etc – Additional languages of international usage will be considered a plus – Motivated to take part in the project and showing involvement during the selection process – Able to assume all the tasks and rules of the project and to remain involved
