🇪🇸 Erasmus+ Training Course in Spain 🎓 A Certified Training of Trainers on Being Civically Engaged 🗳️

Description

Join the certified and ETS-aligned course to strengthen trainers' competencies in being civically engaged, focusing on the civic role of the trainer, integrating values and beliefs, critical thinking, and democracy and human rights principles.

NGO Awero team, Nexes Interculturals, Cities of Learning Network partners, and the International Youth Work Trainers Guild are offering a 6th modular training for trainers, aligned to the European Training Strategy (ETS) competence model.

The training course will contribute to the development of the ETS trainers’ competences in the area of “Being Civically Engaged”.

- Understanding and asserting the trainer's work as an act of civic engagement

- Connecting relevant [youth] policies and educational programmes to own values, beliefs and different political perspectives

- Reflecting on personal civic engagement, values and beliefs, and integrating them in the training practice in a responsible and constructive way

- Supporting learners in developing critical thinking and using the diversity of opinions and beliefs as a source of learning

- Applying democracy and human rights principles in the design and delivery of training activities.

Programme of the training course

The programme opens with introductions, setting the learning stage, and exploring participants' personal values and beliefs, then links these to trainer identity and active citizenship.

Midweek, the group will travel to Barcelona to explore civic engagement and local training practices, including a Migrantour optional session in one of Barcelona’s neighbourhoods.

The later days shift to developing pilot civically engaged training practice ideas, examining diversity, democracy and human rights as sources of learning, and covering resources for trainers' professional development and recognition.

Highlights of this training activity:

Aligned to the ETS competence model for Trainers, the course objectives and content are aligned with professional competences expected for Facilitating Learning in international training settings in the field of youth work.

Certified training - the broad coalition of partners will create opportunities for the course participants to assess, validate and recognise competence development at the international level and in specific countries (if possible).

Digital friendly - the training and competence assessment methodology and activities will include using digital tools and platforms - the Trainers Appraiser platform and digital Open Badges.

Long-term development opportunity - participants willing to continue to develop their professional trainer competencies will be invited to apply for the upcoming training courses on other competence areas.

Participants profile:

This course is designed for people who are starting or are already experienced trainers*.

The Trainer in the field of youth is defined as someone “who shapes, guides and accompanies the learning processes of individuals or groups. Trainers design and implement educational activities based on the values and principles of youth work and non-formal learning; they create conditions that promote the learners’ individual development, and they shape the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary for youth work”*

This course is for people who are:

- Already working as trainers locally or internationally, willing to strengthen competencies in cooperation in teams.

- Age: from 18 years.

- Language: A sufficient level of English is necessary to participate in this course.

- Resident in one of the countries identified in this call.

The course organisers will invite up to 24 participants.

Digital credentials and certification

This training activity is a unique opportunity for participants to use up-to-date and digital recognition solutions, such as digital Open Badges and https://trainersappraisal.com/ platform. Participants can use 360-degree competence assessment, earn digital badges, and receive certificates proving their competence development.

The Youthpass process and certificate will be offered to participants joining this training programme.

Participation fee

To balance the training budget, we invite you to contribute a 50 euro participation fee, which will be deducted from the travel costs reimbursement. In justified cases, participants may request a discount or waive the contribution. The participation fee should not be a barrier to participation.

Accommodation and food

This course is partially co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, and therefore, most of the costs will be covered by the organisers. Board, lodging, local transportation and programme costs will be covered upon full participation in the course.

Travel reimbursement

The following travel cost reimbursement rules will apply: Travel costs will be reimbursed based on the real costs, not exceeding the lump sums based on the travel distances, in Euro: 10-99 km - 28 / green travel - 56 100-499 km - 211/ green travel - 285 500-1999 km - 309/ green travel 417 2000-2999 km - 395/ green travel 535 3000-3999 km - 580/ green travel 785 4000-7999 km - 1188 eur. Only costs that are justified will be eligible for reimbursement. Local transportation costs 20-25 Euros. It will be included in the overall travel costs. If your travel exceeds the lump sums above, the remaining costs shall be borne by the participant or their sending organisation. Participants must obtain travel insurance covering travel irregularities (such as delays, cancellations, or missed connections) and unforeseen health-related expenses. The organisers will reimburse up to 20 EUR for the insurance, if the insurance is acquired specifically for this activity. Costs arising from such situations cannot be covered if the participant has not obtained insurance.
