Description
A deep-dive into Nonviolent Communication and embodiment, where words meet the body. What becomes possible when we give space not only to words but the quieter messages of our bodies too?
Our bodies can often notice what is happening before we are able to name it. A change in posture, a feeling of tension, an impulse to move away or come closer can all provide valuable information about our emotions, needs and relationships. Learning to recognise these signals can help us become more present and responsive - both in our own lives and when working with groups.
Rooted is an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and explore what allows us to stay connected - to ourselves, to others, and to what truly matters to us. Through Nonviolent Communication and embodiment practices, we will explore the relationship between our inner experience and the way we meet the world around us.
In this training, NVC is approached not simply as a communication method, but as an embodied way of being - a practice of listening deeply to ourselves and others, recognising emotions and needs, and responding with greater awareness and choice. Through movement, body awareness, reflection and authentic connection, we will explore how we can become more grounded in ourselves while staying open and present in relationship.
Throughout the training, we will explore how embodied approaches can broaden the ways we understand certain situations, connect with ourselves and others. By developing greater sensitivity to what is happening within the body, we can learn to respond to situations with more awareness, flexibility and care.
Rooted in both NVC and embodiment, this training invites you to move beyond simply knowing communication concepts and towards experiencing them in your own body - cultivating greater self-awareness, groundedness and connection that can be carried into your everyday relationships and work with others.
OBJECTIVES
-integrating Nonviolent Communication beyond techniques, cultivating it as an inner attitude and way of being
-developing own self-awareness, clarity and self-compassion
-strengthening capacity to listen with empathy and learning to express authentically in relationships
-building inner resources to navigate conflict and diversity with openness and care
-exploring connection with own body through embodiment practices
ACTIVITIES
→ Nonviolent Communication (NVC) - practices of empathy, authentic self-expression, reflection, practiced individually, in couple and in groups
→ Embodiment - movement, somatic exercises, and dance for anchoring the learning and building body intelligence for better understanding of own reactions
→ Embodied NVC - some of the typical NVC processes experienced through using the body only (non-verbal)
PARTICIPANTS
→those who work with young people in non-formal way (you are a trainer, youth leader, activist, volunteer etc.)
→those who are above 21 years old
→those who are residents of EU & Programme countries
→those who communicate in English fluently enough to understand and learn
→those who are curious to explore embodiment practices that include consent-based touch
→those who want to learn NVC - whether you are completely new to it or already have some familiarity with the approach. We will start from the very beginning, so if you already know NVC, come with a beginner’s mind. This can be an opportunity to integrate what you already know, discover new perspectives, and rethink or deepen your practice.
