Institute My Rainbow (Moja Mavrica) in Ljubljana is offering a three-month project internship at the intersection of climate justice and housing rights, built around street work, community organising, non-formal education and content creation, with training provided in all core methods.
What the Internship Is About
🌍 Most of the workload centres on climate change and housing justice, with a focus on networking and street work.
🏠 You start by planning, implementing and evaluating activities together with the organisation's volunteers and target groups, including leisure evenings, focus groups, sports activities, street actions and interventions, and internal educational activities.
🤝 The organisation works with diverse and marginalised communities, including LGBTQ+ youth, migrants and other groups facing exclusion.

The Activities You'll Join
🛣️ Street work with marginalised young people: approaching youth in public spaces, engaging in conversation and offering appropriate support.
🤝 Collaboration with volunteers: supporting them in developing and implementing their ideas and facilitating group activities.
🔍 Qualitative research: interviewing community members about their experiences with climate change, then coding and analysing the data.
🎙️ Podcasts: shooting, editing and writing podcast material on housing justice and climate change.
🧑🏫 Workshop planning and facilitation, plus non-formal education for young people, youth workers and students from Slovenia and abroad.
📝 Content creation (videos, articles, event materials) and research and writing, including grant applications, which by the end you'll be able to plan and manage independently.
📊 Local and international networking, public presentations, and evaluation, monitoring, reporting and documentation, with regular team intervisions.
A Typical Day
🕗 A day might run from an 8:00 team meeting and intervision, into individual work (editing street-action footage, drafting social content, or researching housing policy), group work (planning performances, preparing workshops), a coordination session, a midday street action in a public space, and a team debrief.
🌦️ It's only one example: some weeks are quieter and desk-based, others more active and public-facing. Work is usually in the mornings, shifting to afternoons on activity days, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend activities compensated by a weekday off.
📍 The work is mobile and community-based; there's no daily youth centre or fixed office, so meetings and coworking happen in public spaces in Ljubljana, such as public libraries.

The Practical Details
🗓️ Three months, with the period running 1 January 2027 to 31 March 2027; the duration is flexible, and while full-time is preferred, part-time applicants can be considered.
