The International Criminal Court (ICC) is hiring an Associate Electronic Evidence Officer at the P-2 level in The Hague, on a two-year fixed-term appointment with a minimum net annual salary of €71,893. The role provides specialised technical and data-analytic support to investigation and prosecution teams, and the application deadline is 3 September 2026.

Where This Role Sits

The position is in the Evidence Discovery Management Unit (EDMU), Information, Knowledge and Evidence Management Section (IKEMS), Integrated Services Division, Office of the Prosecutor. EDMU provides specialised technical and data-analytic support to the unified investigation and prosecution teams through dedicated tools, techniques, specialised scripts and algorithms that exploit large structured and unstructured datasets within the Court's Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).

Duties and Responsibilities

🖥️ Supervise technicians and processes associated with securing electronic evidence at the seat of the Court, and write technical scripts and programs that transform the structure of data to make it useful in the Office's evidence management systems.

🔎 Translate the objectives of investigations into technical activities, interact with teams to assess the significance of electronic devices and identify relevant information, and analyse and understand the structures and purposes of collected data while maintaining forensic integrity.

🗂️ Populate evidence selection systems, and assist in the preparation, ingestion and processing of digital materials including structured and unstructured data. This includes enriching audio/video material (format conversion, fingerprinting, transcript alignment, voice isolation), applying OCR, face detection and translation enrichment for multilingual data, and preparing material for disclosure by applying and validating redactions, tagging and packaging in line with Registry and Court standards, with quality control and final validation.

Who Can Apply

🎓 An advanced university degree in data science, computer science, information science, computer programming, business management, law, social science or another relevant field is required. A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu.

📅 A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience (four with a first-level degree) in eDiscovery, digital evidence or a legal technology setting is required, along with familiarity with the EDRM framework and chain-of-custody protocols.

🏅 A RelativityOne Skilled certification (such as Relativity Analytics, Data Management, Infrastructure, Processing, Project Management or Review Management Specialist) is required, along with experience supporting RelativityOne or similar platforms (e.g. Nuix, iPro), electronic evidence acquisition and handling, and handling sensitive or confidential information.

💻 Excellent working knowledge of query languages such as SQL and dtSearch, and/or programming languages such as Python or Java, is required.

Language

🗣️ Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is required; working knowledge of the other is highly desirable.
