๐ฅ Supervision
Under the general supervision of the Senior Media and Communications Officer and the direct supervision of the Senior Media and Communications Associate, the intern will provide creative and technical support to the implementation of IOM's communication strategy in West and Central Africa.
๐ฅ Learning Objectives and Responsibilities
๐ธ Participate in the creation of engaging multimedia content, particularly in support of photography, video, editing, storyboard preparation, adaptation of short formats and the versioning of content for digital platforms
โ๏ธ Contribute to the creation, editing and optimization of attractive communication content for different channels, including web articles, social media posts, captions, newsletters, campaign notes, human stories, talking points and briefing materials
๐๏ธ Support the management, organization and promotion of communication content: photos, videos, visuals, testimonies, campaign content, media products and visibility materials, in order to facilitate their reuse in regional campaigns and publications
๐๏ธ Contribute to the management of communication and marketing tools, including editorial calendars, campaign folders, tracking tables, shared spaces, media monitoring files and content databases
๐ Support the collection, selection and consolidation of content from country offices and regional initiatives, ensuring editorial consistency, visual quality and alignment with IOM's brand image and standards
๐ Support the daily animation of regional digital platforms, including writing, adapting, scheduling and proofreading content designed to strengthen the visibility, engagement and consistency of IOM's messages
๐ค Support collaboration with country offices, technical teams, headquarters and partners to identify content opportunities, propose creative ideas and contribute to regional campaigns that are more coherent, visible and audience-oriented
โ Education
๐ Be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree or in a master's programme in communication, journalism, digital marketing, digital media, audiovisual production, multimedia, public relations, information sciences, social sciences or a related field, at a recognised university, or hold a bachelor's degree in one of these or a related field
๐ Additional training, a portfolio or academic and professional experience in content creation, social media management, audiovisual production, graphic design, storytelling or digital communication would be an asset

๐ฐ Experience, demonstrated interest or academic and professional work in the fields of media, communication, journalism, digital content, advocacy, international development, humanitarian action or migration
๐ฑ Good familiarity with the main social media platforms, including X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok, and with their formats, audiences and editorial uses
โ๏ธ Ability to write clear, concise content adapted to target audiences, particularly for social media, the web, newsletters, campaigns or public information materials
๐๏ธ Experience or practice in content planning, editorial calendars, newsletters, storytelling, communication campaign support or the use of basic design tools would be an advantage
๐ฌ Basic skills in photography, videography, audio editing, video editing, animation or graphic design would be an asset

๐ถ Notes and Conditions
๐ฐ Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs, and interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend
๐ก๏ธ IOM covers interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan, free of charge, for the duration of the internship
๐ฉบ IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses, and interns are responsible for their own medical insurance and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work
