About the Organisation

AmCham EU, the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU, represents member companies' interests to the EU institutions across a broad range of European and transatlantic policy issues. It is seeking to recruit two Policy and Public Affairs interns for the period of September 2026 until the end of February 2027, offering a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of EU advocacy.

The Role

The successful candidates will support AmCham EU's Policy and Public Affairs team by contributing to its policy, advocacy, external communications, and stakeholder engagement activities. The roles involve conducting research, monitoring EU policy developments, drafting communications materials, preparing briefings, and supporting meetings and events with policymakers, member companies, and other stakeholders.

Main Tasks

๐Ÿ”„ Support all stages of advocacy activities, from policy research and development to communications and stakeholder engagement

๐Ÿ” Monitor and research EU policy developments relevant to AmCham EU member companies

๐Ÿ“ Prepare briefing notes, background papers, and other policy and communications materials

โœ๏ธ Draft a wide range of written materials, including correspondence and meeting reports

๐Ÿค Assist with the preparation, coordination, and follow-up of meetings with policymakers, business representatives, and other stakeholders

๐Ÿ—„๏ธ Ensure the accuracy and integrity of internal databases

๐ŸŽช Support the organisation of conferences, events, and committee meetings

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

๐ŸŽ“ A recent graduate with a Master's degree in European studies, political science, international relations, law, economics, or a related field

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ A strong interest in European affairs and public policy

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with a proactive mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

โœ๏ธ Excellent written communication skills

๐Ÿค Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues

๐Ÿ’ป Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office

๐Ÿค– Familiarity with AI tools and an understanding of their responsible use in a professional environment are an asset

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Languages: fluent English (written and spoken); other EU languages can be an asset
