Institute My Rainbow (Inลกtitut Moja Mavrica) is looking for a project intern to work on climate justice and housing in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The organisation welcomes candidates from a range of backgrounds, with a preference for those with academic or professional knowledge related to climate change, housing injustice and political science. The work is mobile and community-based, with a strong focus on networking and street work.


Who They're Looking For

๐ŸŒฑ A genuine interest in social justice, housing rights, climate justice or intersectional approaches to public policy

๐Ÿค Comfortable engaging with people in public spaces and working with diverse communities, including LGBTQ+ youth, migrants and other marginalised groups

๐ŸŽฅ Curious and willing to learn across disciplines: video editing, facilitating a workshop, or understanding housing legislation

๐Ÿงญ Able to work both independently and in a small, collaborative team

โœ… Reliable, organised and able to commit to a structured schedule

๐Ÿ’ก Previous experience in street theatre, community organising, video production, graphic design or advocacy is valued but not required (training is provided in all core methods)



What You'll Do

๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ Street work with marginalised young people: approaching youth in public spaces, engaging in conversations and offering appropriate support

๐Ÿ™Œ Collaboration with volunteers: supporting them in developing and implementing their ideas, and facilitating group activities

๐Ÿ”ฌ Qualitative research: conducting interviews with community members about their experiences with climate change, then coding and analysing the data

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Podcasts: shooting, editing and writing podcast materials on housing justice in connection with climate change

๐ŸŽ“ Workshop planning and facilitation, plus non-formal education for young people, youth workers and students from Slovenia and abroad

๐Ÿ“ Content creation (videos, articles, event materials) and research and writing (articles, grant applications and related materials)

Good to Know

๐Ÿ›๏ธ The organisation doesn't run a daily youth centre or have its own offices; the work is mobile and community-based, using public spaces in Ljubljana (such as public libraries) for coworking and meetings

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Working days are Monday to Friday (mostly mornings, shifting to afternoons on activity days); occasional weekend activities are compensated with a weekday off

๐Ÿ“ธ Interns must be willing to actively engage with people in public spaces and to consent to appearing in photos and videos (for promoting and reporting on the organisation's work)
