The Sexological Centre at Aalborg University Hospital and the Translational Neuropsychiatry Unit at Aarhus University are seeking motivated Erasmus interns to gain experience in clinical research, interdisciplinary health sciences and science communication.
About the Research Environment
The research works at the intersection of sexology, hormones, mental health, neurobiology and clinical practice. Current projects include studies on transgender and gender-diverse health, gender-affirming care, hormonal treatment, stress physiology, wellbeing, dropout from clinical care, wearable technology and patient-reported outcomes. It's especially relevant for students in medicine, psychology, neuroscience, public health, sociology, data science, health technology, biomedical sciences or related fields โ and welcomes those who are curious, independent and interested in a clinical research environment where quantitative data, patient perspectives and real-world healthcare challenges converge.
Possible Tasks
The exact tasks are adapted to your level of study, skills and learning goals, and may include one or more of:
๐ Literature searches and summaries within sexology, gender identity, mental health, hormone treatment or stress physiology
๐ Assistance with ongoing research projects involving clinical data, questionnaires or wearable technology
๐งน Data cleaning and preparation for statistical analysis
๐ Support for REDCap surveys, coding of questionnaire data or patient chart review projects
๐ Basic statistical analyses, depending on experience
๐ Preparation of tables, figures and presentations
โ๏ธ Drafting or editing scientific and popular science texts in English
๐ฌ Supporting conference abstracts, posters or manuscript preparation
๐ฃ๏ธ Participating in research meetings and interdisciplinary discussions

Requirements
๐ Enrolled at a European university and eligible for an Erasmus traineeship
๐ฉบ Academic background in medicine, psychology, neuroscience, public health, sociology, health science, data science or a related field
โค๏ธ Strong interest in sexology, gender identity, hormones, mental health or clinical research
๐งญ Able to work independently and responsibly
๐ฌ๐ง Good written and spoken English
๐ค Comfortable working with sensitive health-related topics
๐ Basic computer skills and attention to detail
โ Experience with statistics, REDCap, R, SPSS, Jamovi, Python, qualitative methods or systematic literature searches is an advantage, but not required
