If you're considering a placement abroad in Catalonia and dreaming of a teaching career, Institut Torre Vicens in Lleida is offering an Italian and/or English Language Assistant position for your Erasmus+ traineeship — no previous teaching experience required.
About the School

Your Role
You'll work as an Italian and/or English Language Assistant at Secondary and/or Vocational Education levels, with students aged roughly 12 to 20, and may also support language activities with teachers. You'll assist in teaching Italian or English to students and teachers with a low or beginner level, and may help prepare future Erasmus+ students for their internships abroad, especially in Italy. As you'll be assisting the lead teacher, no previous teaching experience is required.
What You'll Do
🗣️ Lead language activities such as speaking and listening practice, role-plays and other oral communication tasks at Secondary level
🎨 Contribute to cross-curricular projects with subjects like Science, Arts or Maths
🌍 Take part in CLIL-based projects, Erasmus+ activities and school outings
👩🏫 Support foreign language teachers across the school

Requirements
🗣️ Excellent command of Italian and/or English — C1 level or native speaker level (CEFR)
❤️ A strong interest in languages and teaching
✨ Enthusiastic, dynamic and responsible, able to motivate students in their learning
🎓 No previous teaching experience required

The Details
📍 Location: Lleida (Catalonia), Spain
🗓️ Period: Within the school year, September 2026 to May 2027
⏳ Duration: 10 weeks to 6 months
🕒 Commitment: 3–4 days per week — around 13–15 hours directly with students, plus lesson prep and mentor meetings, with 1–2 days off
💶 Compensation: Unpaid — students should apply for an Erasmus+ grant through their home university
➕ Depending on demand, there may be the possibility of paid Italian or English afternoon classes, outside the scheduled placement hours
