Description
Want to spend a school year working with children in Estonia? Haapsalu Kesklinna Lasteaed is looking for an ESC volunteer for September 2026 – June 2027! You'll join a friendly kindergarten team of ~300 children aged 1.5–7 across 3 buildings in the coastal town of Haapsalu. Our approach is child-centred and play-based, using the Step by Step methodology with a strong focus on outdoor learning, inclusion and family cooperation. As a volunteer you will: Support creative, music and movement activities Spend time outdoors and join excursions Help children in small groups Prepare materials with teachers Share your culture and ideas Learn Estonian naturally on the job! We're looking for someone open-minded, a team player, genuinely interested in working with children, with basic English and EU citizenship.
Participant profile
We are looking for a motivated and open-minded volunteer who is genuinely interested in working with young children aged 1.5–7. The ideal candidate is a team player who feels comfortable in a dynamic, child-centred environment and is willing to actively participate in daily kindergarten life — from creative and outdoor activities to supporting routines and preparing materials with teachers. You should be curious and adaptable, ready to immerse yourself in a new culture and learn some Estonian along the way. Being able to share your own cultural background and ideas with children and colleagues is a big plus! We expect: Openness and curiosity Team player attitude Genuine interest in working with children Basic English skills EU citizenship No prior experience in education is required — enthusiasm and a positive attitude are what matter most!
