Description

A small high school (under 200 students). Boarding school of excellence (extracurricular activities offered to boarders). The school is an Erasmus+ and Euroscol-accredited institution. It also holds the E3D label (sustainable development). Educational programs range from vocational certificates (CAP) to advanced vocational diplomas (BTS). Programs focus on building trades and also include Cybersecurity, Computer Science and Electronics. Centrally located: 55 km from Poitiers-Futuroscope (45 minutes) – 45 km from Angoulême (35 minutes). Bordeaux is 1 hour 30 minutes away and Paris is 2 hours 30 minutes by TGV. The train station is an 8-minute walk from the school. The coast is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes away. We have been involved in European projects for 5 years now, with KA1 mobilities and a KA2 partnership project carried out in 2024.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Entire apartment with 3 bedrooms, fully equipped with essential kitchen items (cutlery, microwave, stove), washing machine, furnished living room and dining area. The apartment is located on the school grounds. Shared accommodation is available if 2 European volunteers are recruited. Full board at the school cafeteria, from Monday lunchtime to Friday lunchtime. Possibility of cooking in the apartment for the other days. Supermarket, restaurants, swimming pool, lots of shops and a market twice a week

Training during the activity

1 Activities: Europe Club activities, Film screenings and discussions, FabLab activities 2 Support for our KA2 Partnership Project and our KA1 Mobility Projects: assistance with project writing, communication support, preparation for the departure of students in Erasmus 3 Participation in local outreach: immersion (one day/week) in a local partner organization, assistance in project development 4 Co-facilitation of the student council: support the student council members in their projects,assist the students in managing the student council cafeteria

Participant profile

- Autonomy and adaptability in work

- Proficiency in basic computer skills and software (word processing, spreadsheets, Canva or equivalent)

- Interest in the field of education (future teacher?)

- Experience in leading activities or volunteering with young people

- Ability to work in a team

- Dynamism and strong oral and written communication skills

- Sensitivity to social issues (environment, equality, inclusion, etc.)

We are focusing our upcoming mobility programs and partnerships on two countries: Germany and Spain. We prioritize recruiting volunteers from these destinations, if possible, but we will also consider other countries if promising candidates emerge. Fluency in German or Spanish and English or French is required.
