Description
The Wilde 9 kindergarten is located approx. 7 km by bike from the centre of Greifswald in beautiful, unspoilt countryside. Around 40 children attend the kindergarden They are accompanied by six teachers. The children are not divided into groups, but decide according to their needs and interests which themed rooms they would like to use, what they would like to do or work on, when, with whom and for how long. Daily excursions to the forest and meadows are an important part of kindergarten life. At the same time, they can devote themselves to their own projects in the children's workshop, in the garden in the materials playroom or in the role- play room. So life here is always in flux, every day is different. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation is in a shared flat with other international volunteers or local students. You will have your own room. You will receive food allowance each month and are responsible for your meals yourself. You will receive a monthly travel ticket.
Training during the activity
You will have to participate in 2 seminar weeks organized by the German national agency: the on arrival training and midterm evaluation. Both take place somewhere in Germany, together with other ESC volunteers. Moreover, we - the volunteering initiative Turbina Pomerania - organize additional seminar in Greifswald and the surrounding region for local and international volunteers. You will participate in these seminars (20 days in total), too. Participant profile
you are open mindend and interessted in working with kids, enjoy being outdoors in nature, willing to learn German intensively willing to familiarise yourself with the open concept of the kindergarten.
