DESCRIPTION

L'Essentiel asbl is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to accompany people with disabilities in all aspects of their daily life and self-development. L’Essentiel creates spaces for people with disabilities to socialize by creating different activities in the fields of sport, culture, arts, communication. The three ESC volunteers will take part in the daily life of the center by supporting residents in their daily activities. They will take part in those activities which will be more interesting for them. Volunteers are also expected to come with their own ideas for projects to be implemented together with the residents.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Accommodation with other ESC volunteers in Braine-l'Alleud town. Bikes are made available for the ESC volunteers to go to work and there is a bus running. Private rooms and shared bathroom, kitchen and living room. Food and pocket money is provided every month to the volunteer, who has to manage their budget by themselves. During working days, the ESC volunteers can eat at L'Essentiel for free (veggie friendly).

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

Training Info Cycle is organised by the Belgian National Agency. Get Together seminars organized by Compagnons Bâtisseurs Belgium (the coordinating organization). The volunteers can also take part in the training of international leaders organized twice a year by CBB. Possibility to get French classes, additionally to the online linguistic support (OLS).

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Our project is open to anybody motivated by volunteering and who wishes to be involved in our organization, regardless of their nationality, religion, believes, diploma, professional experience. A volunteer comfortable with any type of public, willing to learn French, open minded towards people from different social and economic backgrounds, creative, flexible, willing to share about their culture and country.
