ACT FOR TRANSFORMATION GEG

ARMENIAN PROGRESSIVE YOUTH NGO

YEREVAN, Armenia

DESCRIPTION

Are you living in Germany and looking for a meaningful international volunteering experience? Join Armenian Progressive Youth through the European Solidarity Corps and support youth work, creativity, and community action across Armenia. Volunteers may take part in activities at the Yerevan, Charentsavan, Tsakhkadzor, and Vayk Alternative Youth Centers, supporting workshops, cultural events, youth participation activities, media and communication, creative spaces, and grassroots community initiatives. AYP’s Alternative Youth Centers are safe and inclusive spaces where young people engage in non-formal education, community life, and youth-led initiatives. Volunteers are encouraged to bring in their own ideas, learn through practice, develop new skills, and become part of an active intercultural and community-based learning environment.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Volunteers are accommodated in shared housing in Yerevan or in regional youth center spaces, depending on activities and placement. Accommodation may include shared rooms and common living areas with other volunteers and young people. You will receive:

👉 Monthly pocket money and food allowance according to the program guidelines

👉 Travel reimbursement based on ESC distance bands

👉 Support for local transport related to project activities

The living environment also offers opportunities to connect, exchange experiences, and build friendships with other young people.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

Volunteers receive:

🤝 Pre-departure preparation before leaving Germany

🤝 On-arrival and mid-term seminars in Armenia

🤝 Regular mentoring, reflection meetings, and check-ins throughout the project

🤝 Ongoing support from the AYP team to support learning, integration, and personal development

Volunteers also become part of an international and intercultural learning environment, with opportunities to connect with local communities, youth workers, and other volunteers.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

We are looking for young people aged 18–30 living in Germany who are motivated, open-minded, and interested in meaningful community engagement. You do not need to be an expert or have years of experience. What matters most is your willingness to learn, participate actively, and contribute to community life. This opportunity is especially suitable for people interested in:

- Youth participation and non-formal education

- Creativity and intercultural dialogue

- Community engagement and grassroots initiatives

- Media, communication, photography, or creative storytelling

- Human rights, inclusion, and social change

Basic English is important for communication and daily activities. Knowledge of Armenian or other languages is welcome, but not required.
