๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท UN Internship in Tรผrkiye ๐ŸŒ UNDP Research Intern ๐Ÿ’ฐ SDG Finance Portfolio ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Turkish Speaker, Istanbul ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Turkish-speaking Research Intern for its SDG Finance Portfolio at the Istanbul Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) โ€” one of UNDP's five Global Thematic Policy Centers. This paid, 6-month internship is available both in-person in Istanbul and home-based, and is open to final-year Bachelor's students, Master's students, and recent graduates in finance, economics, business, international relations, law, or related fields. Fluency in both Turkish and English is required. The deadline is 25 March 2026 โ€” apply immediately.

๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Istanbul is one of the only cities in the world that spans two continents โ€” Europe and Asia โ€” and is home to one of the most dynamic emerging market economies on the planet. As the seat of UNDP's Istanbul Center for Private Sector in Development, established in partnership with the Government of Tรผrkiye in 2011, the city plays a genuinely strategic role in connecting global development finance with South-South cooperation and private sector engagement across the developing world.

What Will You Do?

๐Ÿ” Research & Analysis: Provide research, writing, and editing support on topics related to impact investing, SDG financing, and sustainable development โ€” contributing directly to UNDP's knowledge base and policy work.
๐Ÿ“– Knowledge Publishing: Support the production and publishing of knowledge stories and best practices on impact investing and SDG financing for internal and external audiences.
๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Project Design & Implementation: Contribute to the design and implementation of initiatives, projects, and programmes run by the Sustainable Finance Hub and ICPSD.
๐Ÿ“ฃ Communications Materials: Prepare a wide range of communications materials including speeches, brochures, success stories, and social media content.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance on an as-needed basis to support the team's day-to-day operations.
๐ŸŒ Did You Know? The UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) โ€” 17 global targets agreed by all 193 UN member states in 2015 โ€” require an estimated $4โ€“6 trillion per year in investment by 2030 to achieve. Closing this enormous financing gap is one of the defining challenges of the decade, and UNDP's Sustainable Finance Hub exists specifically to mobilise private sector capital, impact investment, and innovative financial instruments toward these goals โ€” making this internship a front-row seat to some of the most consequential development finance work happening anywhere in the world.

Eligibility & Requirements

๐ŸŽ“ Education: Must be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's degree, enrolled in a Master's degree, or have graduated from a university degree in economics, finance, business, development, international relations, law, public administration, or a related field within the last year.
