Are you a student or recent graduate with a background or strong interest in gender equality, human rights, or social development โ€” and looking to gain hands-on UN experience in the Western Balkans? The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Skopje is looking for an intern to support the Human Rights and Gender Thematic Group, working directly with UN co-chairs and gender focal points across UN agencies in North Macedonia. The role covers meeting coordination, gender data visualisation, joint campaign support, NGO consultations, and stakeholder database management. In-person in Skopje. Unpaid. Deadline: 26 March 2026.
๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Did You Know? Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the Balkans โ€” with a history stretching back over 6,000 years. It is also the birthplace of Mother Teresa, who was born there in 1910 when the city was still part of the Ottoman Empire. Today it serves as the base for a significant cluster of UN agencies and international organisations active in the Western Balkans.

๐Ÿ’ก Did You Know?
