๐Ÿ‡ถ๐Ÿ‡ฆ UN Internship in Qatar ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Political Affairs Intern ๐ŸŒ Children and Armed Conflict, Doha ๐Ÿ‡ถ๐Ÿ‡ฆ
Are you a student or recent graduate passionate about child protection, peace and security, and the work of the United Nations โ€” and fluent in both English and Arabic? The UN Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (OSRSG-CAAC) is looking for a Political Affairs Intern to join its Analysis and Outreach Hub in Doha, Qatar. The role involves research, stakeholder engagement, communications support, and contributing to advocacy and outreach on one of the most critical humanitarian mandates in the UN system. This is an unpaid, full-time, in-person position starting in May 2026. Deadline: 26 March 2026.
๐Ÿ‡ถ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Did You Know? Doha, the capital of Qatar, has rapidly emerged as a major hub for international diplomacy, conflict mediation, and humanitarian dialogue. What Will You Do?

๐Ÿ”ฌConduct research and reference searches on political, security, and humanitarian issues related to the children and armed conflict mandate
๐ŸคParticipate in meetings with stakeholders and contribute to collaborative projects and initiatives connected to the OSRSG-CAAC mandate
๐Ÿ“Attend conferences and meetings, take notes, and help service these events logistically and administratively
๐Ÿ“ฃAssist in preparing communication materials โ€” presentations, newsletters, website content, and social media posts โ€” for advocacy and outreach campaigns
๐Ÿ“ฐMonitor news articles, press releases, and social media platforms and share relevant developments with the team in a timely way
๐Ÿ“‹Support the preparation of reports, concept papers, policy documents, talking points, articles, and other substantive materials as needed
๐Ÿ’ก Did You Know? The mandate of the SRSG for Children and Armed Conflict was established by the UN General Assembly in 1996 following a landmark report on the impact of war on children. Today, the office monitors and reports on grave violations against children in over 20 conflict situations worldwide โ€” including recruitment of child soldiers, killing and maiming, sexual violence, and attacks on schools and hospitals.
