What Will You Do as an Intern?
๐ฌ Provide technical support to characterise the physiological, genetic, and technological properties of GABA-producing lactic acid bacteria (LAB) of industrial interest
๐งฌ Work on research focused on the physiology, genetics, and technological properties of LAB that produce gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA)
๐ฅ Contribute to the assessment of the biotechnological potential of GABA-producing LAB for the production of functional fermented foods
๐งช Conduct laboratory work within a collaborative and internationally experienced molecular microbiology research group
๐ป Apply bioinformatics and biotechnology knowledge to support ongoing research objectives
๐ Collaborate with research group members and contribute to the scientific output of the team

Training & Learning
๐ญ You will gain hands-on research experience in molecular microbiology, food biotechnology, and functional food development within a leading Spanish research institution
๐ง You will deepen your knowledge of lactic acid bacteria, GABA biosynthesis, fermentation science, and probiotic research
๐ก You will develop your laboratory, bioinformatics, and scientific communication skills working alongside experienced researchers at IPLA-CSIC
Participant Profile
๐ You are a postgraduate or master's student in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Natural Sciences, Agriculture Sciences, or Medical Sciences
๐ฌ You have a solid scientific background in microbiology and molecular biology โ laboratory work experience will be positively evaluated
๐ป Knowledge of bioinformatics and biotechnology is a strong plus
๐ฃ๏ธ You have an English level of at least B2 for scientific communication within the research group
๐ก You are highly motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about contributing to food science and health-focused research
