๐ Project Overview
๐ Welcome to Ungdomsรธen โ a youth-led island just outside Copenhagen, Denmark ๐ฉ๐ฐ
Once a former military fort, the island is now a living laboratory for community building, experimentation, and youth participation. Every year, young people live on the island to co-create, manage, and develop activities that strengthen democratic engagement and active citizenship.
As an ESC Volunteer, you will become part of the โGive A Yearโ team โ a group of six young people living and working together on the island.
โจ You will host guests and support daily operations
โจ You will facilitate youth activities and community events
โจ You will contribute to maintenance and island logistics
โจ You will collaborate closely with staff and volunteers
โจ You can initiate and develop your own youth-led ideas
This is a fully immersive community-based volunteering experience where responsibility, teamwork, and initiative are part of everyday life.
โ ๏ธ Important: Danish/Scandinavian language skills are required, as Danish is the working language on the island.
