๐ŸŒ Project Overview

๐ŸŒŠ Welcome to Ungdomsรธen โ€” a youth-led island just outside Copenhagen, Denmark ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ

Once a former military fort, the island is now a living laboratory for community building, experimentation, and youth participation. Every year, young people live on the island to co-create, manage, and develop activities that strengthen democratic engagement and active citizenship.

As an ESC Volunteer, you will become part of the โ€œGive A Yearโ€ team โ€” a group of six young people living and working together on the island.

โœจ You will host guests and support daily operations
โœจ You will facilitate youth activities and community events
โœจ You will contribute to maintenance and island logistics
โœจ You will collaborate closely with staff and volunteers
โœจ You can initiate and develop your own youth-led ideas

This is a fully immersive community-based volunteering experience where responsibility, teamwork, and initiative are part of everyday life.
