🌍 Project Overview
Village Together is a European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering project taking place in western Czechia, in the municipalities of Spálené Poříčí, Žinkovy and Měcholupy, located within 30 minutes of Plzeň. The project is implemented by Místní akční skupina svatého Jana z Nepomuku, z.s. and focuses on the cultural and social revitalization of rural communities where opportunities for community life are often limited. The volunteer actively contributes to community centres, open clubs, and local solidarity initiatives, while also having space to develop personal ideas and pilot initiatives.

🧩 Main Activities and Tasks
🏘️ Supporting leisure and community activities at the Community Centre in Spálené Poříčí
👥 Assisting open clubs and local initiatives in Žinkovy and Měcholupy
🌿 Caring for a community garden and outdoor shared spaces
👕 Managing and supporting a public clothes-sharing closet
🥫 Assisting activities of the local food bank
👶👵 Participating in intergenerational activities with children, youth, adults and seniors
🎨 Contributing ideas and pilot initiatives to enrich local community services

🏡 Accommodation, Food and Financial Support
🏠 Private room with bathroom and kitchen on the organisation’s premises
🍽️ Food fully covered with lunch at the school canteen or self-cooking options
💶 Pocket money of 7 EUR per day
✈️ Travel costs reimbursed according to ESC distance limits
🚌 Bus connections to Plzeň and the national railway network for free-time travel

🎓 Training and Support During the Activity
📚 Learning community work and non-formal education methods
🎪 Gaining experience in event organisation and intergenerational activities
🌱 Training in community garden care, food bank support and clothes-sharing systems
🤝 Continuous mentoring, guidance and learning support from the MAS SJN team
