🌱 Project Overview
This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Individual Volunteering opportunity takes place in Bodrogolaszi, Hungary 🇭🇺, focusing on environmental education, nature conservation, and sustainable community life in north-eastern Hungary. Volunteers will actively contribute to educational, outdoor, and community-based activities connected to environmental protection and youth learning.
🎯 Volunteering Activities
Volunteers will be involved in a wide range of practical and educational activities, including:
🌿 Assisting in nature conservation exhibitions as an animator and activity supporter
📚 Supporting environmental education classes for children and young people
📸 Preparing photo documentation for educational and nature-based activities
🚶 Maintaining educational trails and supporting minor renovation works
🚣 Supervising and handing over hiking equipment such as kayaks, canoes, and bicycles
🏕️ Participating in events and supporting summer camps
🌱 Gardening and outdoor maintenance activities
🤝 Taking part in the daily community life of Bodrogolaszi
🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport
🏠 Accommodation in a family house in Bodrogolaszi, near the River Bodrog
🛏️ Separate bedroom for each volunteer
🍽️ Shared kitchen and bathroom with internet access
🛒 Monthly food allowance provided (grocery store in the village, restaurant 5 km away)
🚲 Bicycles provided for local transport
🚆 Green travel encouraged for arrival and departure
🚗 Train or organisation car recommended for long-distance travel

🎂 Aged 18–30
🌱 Interested or involved in nature protection and environmental issues
💪 Comfortable with light physical and outdoor work
👧 Enjoys working with children and young people
🤝 Able to work well in a team and community setting
🚗 Category B driving licence and knowledge of Hungarian are an advantage
