About the Opportunity
🤝 This European Solidarity Corps – Individual Volunteering opportunity is hosted by Vevelstad Frivilligsentral in Vevelstad, Norway 🇳🇴, one of the smallest municipalities in northern Norway, located close to the Polar Circle.
🌿 The project invites volunteers to actively participate in community life, supporting people of all ages and backgrounds while experiencing rural Norwegian culture, nature, and everyday life far from big cities.
Main Activities
👨👩👧 Creating and facilitating activities for the whole local community (children, youth, adults, elderly)
🏡 Organising indoor and outdoor community activities
🧑🎓 Supporting the local youth council and their initiatives
🤝 Working with children, elderly people, and refugees
🎨 Sharing personal hobbies and skills such as photography, video, music, arts, dance, theatre, cooking, sports, or other creative interests
🌍 Taking part in cultural exchange and everyday village life in rural Norway
Training & Learning Opportunities
🇳🇴 Norwegian language education provided
🧠 Learning-by-doing approach with strong focus on practical life skills
📘 Use of Youthpass to define, monitor, and reflect on learning outcomes
🤝 Support from a personal mentor throughout the activity
🇪🇺 Participation in On-Arrival and Mid-Term seminars with other ESC volunteers in Norway
✨ Skills developed include creativity, initiative, activity planning, event management, leadership, and community engagement

Accommodation, Food & Transport
🏠 Combination of host family stay and shared apartment with another volunteer
🍽️ Accommodation, food, pocket money, and local transport fully covered by ESC funding
🚗 Transport to and from activities arranged by the host organisation
🤝 A sending organisation is required to support the volunteer during the process
